Pergasingan Hill

Rising above Sembalun village on the northeast flank of Mount Rinjani, Bukit Pergasingan tops out at around 1,700-1,800 metres and is reached by a roughly two-hour climb through forest. The reward is a sweeping view over Sembalun's patchwork of rice terraces and farmland, with Rinjani's volcanic summit filling the skyline and, on clear days, Sumbawa island visible in the distance. Most visitors time the hike for sunrise or sunset and camp overnight near the top; check locally for current trail status before planning a visit.
