Pasar Badung

Bali's largest traditional market stands on the bank of the Badung River in central Denpasar, on a site used for trade since the 18th century under the King of Badung. Rebuilt after a major fire in 2016, it now occupies a modernised multi-storey building linked by a footbridge to the neighbouring Pasar Kumbasari craft market. Ground floors deal in produce, spices, meat and fish brought in overnight from across the island, while upper floors sell snacks and offering ingredients; it runs from early morning through evening and is used mainly by locals stocking up for temple ceremonies and daily cooking rather than by tour groups.
