About
Laid out as a formal 18th-century garden on a ridge above Bairro Alto, this viewpoint pairs clipped box hedges, fountains and busts of Greco-Roman figures with a long balustraded terrace overlooking the city. A tiled panel identifies the landmarks visible from the rail, among them São Jorge Castle, the Graça church and the spires of São Vicente de Fora. The Elevador da Glória funicular, whose lower station is at Restauradores, connects directly to the garden, making it one of the easiest miradouros to reach on foot from the Baixa.
