Miradouro de Santa Luzia

One of Lisbon's most photographed viewpoints, this small terrace beside the 12th-century Santa Luzia church sits on a hillside above Alfama. A pergola draped in bougainvillea shades stone benches, and the church's east wall carries two blue-and-white azulejo panels — one showing Praça do Comércio before the 1755 earthquake, the other depicting the 1147 siege of São Jorge Castle. Below, the view opens over Alfama's terracotta roofs to the Tagus, with the Panteão Nacional's white dome visible on the opposite hillside.
