About
Tucked into the old Vitoria quarter on Rua de Sao Bento da Vitoria, in Porto's historic centre, this small terrace is easy to miss but delivers one of the most direct views over the Ribeira district. A neoclassical pergola frames the outlook over a jumble of terracotta rooftops that drops down to the Douro River, taking in the Dom Luis I bridge and the port wine lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia across the water. The platform sits on private ground but is left open to the public, with no ticket booth or fixed hours, and is quieter than the city's better-known viewpoints.
