Mercado de Ruzafa

Mercado de Ruzafa opened in the early 1960s in a Brutalist concrete building designed by architect Júlio Bellot Senet, becoming the covered market for the Russafa neighbourhood south of Valencia's old city. In 2010 its facades were repainted in a gradient of colours meant to represent the produce sold inside. With around 160 stalls across 4,780 square metres, it is Valencia's second-largest market after the Mercado Central, mixing everyday grocery stalls with small bars serving tapas to shoppers.
